Kidde Smoke Detector Recall Information
Thursday, May 13th, 2021
The recalled units are Kidde Model Series 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070 Smoke and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide alarms. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in this recall. The model number is printed on the back of the alarm.

It is with great sadness SFD announces the passing of one of our own. FF Dick Ziegler passed yesterday morning surrounded by his wife and children. At the age of 83, Dick was the oldest active member at SFD most recently serving on the Fire Police Squad.

Spencerport Fire District is currently on the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a dump truck. No injuries are reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

SFD firefighters Dan Tucker and Josh Conrad both recently graduated from Recruit Firefighter Training Class #78 at NYS Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. This intensive eleven week program prepares candidates for careers in the fire service and provides a NYS certification.

Eleven firefighters from Spencerport Fire District have been joined by members of multiple area departments to spend Friday evening and all day Saturday learning basic ropes and rigging skills to enhance their abilities with technical rescue situations.
